(1) In most of traditional ultrasonic, phased array, TOFD and othertesting on largepipes such as main steam, inspectors need to hold the probes with their hands for scanning, which may cause missed and false inspections due to human factors. Furthermore, thereis aplentiful ofultrasonictesting devices in the market, butmost of them arecomplexindesign, expensive, and single-use. (2) Theinspection tool setcomprisesa steel belt and a mobileplatform. The steel beltcan be fixed on a largepipe with magnetic wheels, andcan change position along thepipe. The mobileplatform moves electrically on the steel belt with adjustable speed and highmovement precision.The mobileplatform can carry testing devices with a totalweight up to 30kg, includingordinary ultrasonic flaw detector, phased array, TOFD and digital radiographydevices. The couplant will besprayed automaticallyinultrasonictesting.
