Crawling Robot with a Clamp Equipment

1. Introduction

  This crawling robot with clamp equipment is a special intelligent testing device designed for high-pressure and high-temperature pipes with an outer diameter from 30 to 70mm of heating surface of thermal power boilers. The pipe material can be stainless steel, carbon steel or other materials.

2. Features and functions

(1) Visual inspection

It can be equipped with high-definition image sensor and high-brightness LED to show real-time images for inspecting flaws such as slagging, corrosion, damage, and large cracks on the outer surface of pipes. The images can be viewed in real time, recorded and saved for later reviewing. The camera direction can be manually adjusted to obtain and ensure good inspection effect.

(2) High-precision thickness measurement

It can be equipped with an electromagnetic ultrasonic thickness gauge to measure the thickness of tube wall with a detection accuracy up to 0.01mm and range from 1.5mm to 100mm. The process can be done without spraying couplant, which makes it more convenient than conventional thickness gauge.

(3) Diameter measurement

When the crawling robot moves on the pipe, the pipe diameter linear sensor will measure the diameter of pipes to determine whether it is within the normal range. If it shows increased diameter, operators can verify whether there is slagging and other flaws through visual inspection, and locates tube swelling. The accuracy is 0.01mm.
