Video Inspection Robot for Header



1. Introduction

        Foreign objects from soda system are likely to be left over in the header after header overhaul or blowpipe installation, which are easily adsorbed on the small holes of the header after the furnace is started, causing over temperature tube burst on boiler heating surface. Therefore, it is very necessary to check the cleanliness of header.

        Using traditional inspection tools for header (mainly industrial endoscopes), inspectors need to manually push testing cable after endoscopes access header from hand hole, and ensure the camera directing at small holes to observe them. There are also several problems that cannot be solved, such as

          (1) It is difficult to direct at every small hole for the camera.

          (2) It's difficult to determine which one it is directing at, and it is impossible to inspect all the small holes.

         Our video inspection robot for header, as a new intelligent device, can access the header from the hand hole (with diameter more than 70mm) and crawl in electrical motion in the header. The electric lifting bracket places the high-definition panoramic camera at the center line of the header. The camera with FOV of 214 degrees can clearly display the image of the circumferential small hole, the weld of small tube holes and throttle ring. Its advantages include high detection efficiency, and accurate & complete location of flaws. It takes less than half an hour to test a header. The magnetic wheel can be adsorbed on the wall to avoid rollover of the robot due to instability of gravity, and can take out ferromagnetic foreign objects.
